My name is Derek Braid and I tried to get regular RC Laser sailing and racing underway in Autumn 2004 after our boating pond was repaired. The boating pond is at the edge of the East Beach, overlooked by the Scottish Seabird Centre at North Berwick. The pond fills every high tide and sailing is not possible about 1 hour either side of high tide.

We did get some interest and there are about 4 or 5 RC Lasers in the area, but there were not enough numbers to get regular racing going.

I have been sailing on Wednesday evening during the summer and on some Sundays during last winter. Anyone interested in sailing RC Lasers at North Berwick can get in touch with me.

I think the best chance of getting a fleet of RC Lasers in the east of Scotland is for someone drum up interest at Port Edgar Marina and perhaps get a winter series going.
